If you are navigating a healing journey, one of the first questions that might come up is: Should I do this work one-on-one, or would I benefit from a group space?
There is no single right answer. Both individual therapy and group workshops can offer powerful healing experiences. What matters most is what feels supportive to you right now.
Let’s explore both paths so you can choose, or even combine, what resonates.
*If you’re also deciding between weekly therapy, intensives, or trauma-informed workshops, this guide can help you explore those options.
Why the Format Matters
Healing is not one-size-fits-all.
Some people feel safest opening up in private, focused space. Others find comfort and connection in shared experiences. Many people move between both at different points in their journey.
The key is finding what helps your nervous system soften, feel seen, and feel safe enough to begin.
Individual Therapy: Deep, Personalized Support

In individual therapy, the space is entirely yours. It is confidential, attuned, and shaped around your specific needs and pace.
This can be especially supportive if:
- You are processing complex or early-stage trauma
- You prefer privacy and one-on-one attention
- You are ready for deeper, focused work with a consistent guide
At Mind Body Healing Collective, individual sessions are always trauma-informed and body-aware. We move at the speed of your nervous system, not your calendar.
Group Healing: Connection in Community

There is something profoundly healing about being in a room, whether virtual or physical, where people understand.
Group workshops can:
- Normalize your experience
- Help you feel less alone
- Offer tools in a low-pressure, supportive setting
You are never required to speak, share, or process aloud. Our Wellness Workshops are built around choice, safety, and regulation, not performance.
Trauma Therapy Intensives: Space to Slow Down and Go Deeper
Sometimes healing needs more room than a weekly session allows. Trauma therapy intensives create spacious, uninterrupted time to slow down, listen inward, and gently work with what is ready to be tended to.
Intensives are not about pushing harder or rushing the process. They are about creating a container where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and be fully supported in your healing.
This kind of work can be especially meaningful if you:
- Feel pulled in too many directions during the week and want dedicated space just for you
- Notice your healing feels fragmented and want time to integrate more fully
- Are longing for deep care that meets you where you are, without pressure to move quickly
At MBHC, intensives weave together body-based modalities such as Somatic Experiencing and EMDR with supportive practices like yoga, breathwork, or reiki. Every intensive is tailored to your nervous system’s pace, honoring what feels safe and possible in the moment.
Still Not Sure? Ask Yourself…
- Do I feel safer when I am one-on-one or when I am not alone?
- Am I craving connection or deeper personal attention, or maybe both?
- Am I new to healing and want to gently explore my options?
Many people start with one and later try the other. Some do both side by side. There is no wrong combination.
